America’s teens are transforming Super Bowl weekend into the nation’s largest youth-led weekend of giving and serving through the Souper Bowl of Caring. Last year, youth across the nation raised over $10 million for charities through participating in Souper Bowl of Caring.
You can get involved with this simple movement of God’s love in 2009, by bringing your donations to church on February 1 Souper Bowl Sunday.
Our traditon at Milford United Methodist Church is to bring cans of soup with the monetary donation wrapped around the can. (use a rubber band)
On Souper Bowl Sunday, February 1, 2009 youth will collect one-dollar donations in large soup pots as worshippers leave church. Your donations go directly to the Milford Ecumenical Food Pantry—no money is sent to Souper Bowl of Caring headquarters. Organizers simply ask that groups report their collection amount so a national total can be determined.
